Narasimha Swamy

Leela Rani · Original, one of one

$5,450 USD

The original

A single original by Leela Rani — oil on cotton canvas, sold once and never reproduced.

About this painting

Narasimha with consort in a rock-hewn cave setting, diyas afloat below. Original, cotton canvas, by Leela Rani.

Everything in this piece is doing something: the rocky cave walls behind Narasimha are worked in real geological texture, the consort figure is held gently against his chest, all four arms are occupied with lotus blooms and symbolic objects, and the water at the base carries floating diyas and lotus flowers rendered with genuine botanical care. It's the largest and most complex composition Leela Rani has painted for this collection, closer to a devotional narrative scene than a portrait. Original oil on cotton canvas.
